Holiday Hours

 We will be Closed Friday, April 14th through Sunday, April 16th for the holiday weekend. Normal business hours will resume Monday, April 17th at 10am.


Policy Updates

Starting April 1st


Books, audiobooks, and magazines will now be loaned out for 3 weeks.


Books or movies that are deemed "in high demand/popular" will be on a shorter loan period and will be clearly marked. Book "in high demand/popular" will be loaned for only 2 weeks and DVDs in that same category will be loaned for only 4 days.


Books for Budding Brains

April 1st-31st

Documents & Design (D2), North Sioux City, is sponsoring its 9th annual Books for Budding Brains book drive. Collection starts April 1st and runs through April 30, 2017. The purpose of this drive is to collect books for disadvantaged children throughout the Siouxland area. New or gently-used children's books, suitable for pre-school to elementary age kids, can be placed in donation boxes located in the NSCCLibrary, along with other places.



Presentation of the Constitution

April 22nd


Are you interested in the constitution of the united states? interested to learn how it was created and implemented? Wonder how it relates to toda/ys world? Join a local community member, who is an Attorney at Law, speak about the Constitution of the US for 45minutes on Saturday morning. This is also a question and answer session.


Dakota Wind Quintet

April 28th


Take a 30minute break during your morning to listen to a group of talented musicians play their wind instruments. The South Dakota Symphony Orchestra is sending their Dakota Wind Quintet around the state to give the public this free chance to enjoy their music.


Creative Writing Group

April 27th


The Creative Writing group meets most first Thursdays of every month from 5:30-6:30pm. The April meeting will take place on the 27th. Our main goal will be to provide common ground where we can come together for the betterment of the writer and stories within. Each month, be prepared to do a writing exercise, and, if you'd like, share your work. We will also network on reading, writing, and publishing opportunities and possibly invite local guest writers to discuss their craft and share their work.


Books on Wheels

Are you or someone you love housebound due to illness, pregnancy, age, or other factors? If so, we can deliver books to you! Simply call the library at 605-422-2366 to get more information. We'll get you set up with a BOW account and deliver to you every 3 weeks.

Your NSC Senior Center and your NSC Community Library have teamed up together to offer a free movie with popcorn two Tuesdays of every month! This free event is for seniors 55 and older and will take place at the senior center. If you have any questions, feel free to give either the senior center or the library a call.

Pete's Dragon

April 26th


Join us after Dakota Valley's early out! We will watch the movie "Pete's Dragon" while eating popcorn. After the movie, there will be group games to play.
